Ron Johnson, Glider Pilot Regiment

It is with great sadness and regret that I have to inform you of the passing of one of our Arnhem veterans and Honorary Life members, Ron Johnson, on Thursday 16th November 2023 aged 102.

Ron served with E Squadron, Glider Pilot Regiment during the battle of Arnhem, fighting with his section of Glider Pilots alongside men of the 7th Kings Own Scottish Borderers around the ‘White House’, The Dreyeroord Hotel, in northern Oosterbeek, before being captured and taken prisoner of war.
