Airborne Assault Visit

Members of the Arnhem Fellowship undertook a special visit to the Airborne Assault Museum over the weekend of 19th and 20th March 2022.

Hosted by the Curator of the museum, Jon Baker, and his assistant Ben Hill, we were given a guided tour of the museum itself together with a visit to the archives. This was definitely the highlight with the opportunity to see rarely seen and new items not on display, including the Victoria Crosses awarded to Captain Lionel Queripel and Lieutenant John Grayburn.

Our hosts knowledge and presentation were excellent with many anecdotes and stories behind the exhibits being told.

On display also were the original Operational Orders for Operation Market Garden along with some unique information recently acquired by the museum and not yet available publicly.

Our members had a fantastic time. If you’re not a member of the Arnhem Fellowship and you are reading this then please check out our other events and perhaps consider joining us.
