Regimental 80th Commemoration Day
The Arnhem Fellowship was represented at the 80th Anniversary event of the formation of the Parachute Regiment at Merville Barracks, Colchester.
Visitors to the stand included two Arnhem veterans and Honorary Life members of the Arnhem Fellowship.
John Humphreys OBE DL, now a Chelsea Pensioner, who served with the 1st Parachute Squadron Royal Engineers and fought in the School House at Arnhem Bridge.
Bill Williams, 6 Platoon, B Company, 3rd Parachute Battalion who fought throughout the battle, trying to get to the bridge and then defending the Oosterbeek perimeter.
Both became Prisoners of War.
